Lindsay U. Russell, RN, BSN, CCRC; Co-Founder, Certified Clinical Research Coordinator

Lindsay U. Russell is the co-founder and president of G & L Research. She graduated from the Ida V. Moffett School of nursing in 1999 at Samford University with a BSN. She has 7 years of experience as a Registered Nurse working in a hospital setting and has been in the field of Clinical Research since 2007. In 2010, she became a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator with the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. Lindsay manages all aspects of clinical trials from contract and budget negotiations to study close out visits. She has conducted numerous clinical trials with various indications in accordance with good clinical practice. She is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau and volunteers as a RN at the Baldwin County Free Clinic.

Gloria Russell, RN, MSN; Co-Founder, Clinical Research Coordinator

Gloria Russell retired from G & L Research in 2010 and now resides in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1972 from Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing. While attending Samford University, Gloria received her BSN in 1994 and her MSN in 2001. With over 35 years of nursing experience, she has worked as a Medical Surgical Nurse and as a Nursing Manager. Gloria has taught in staff development, community education, and served as an assistant professor of nursing at Samford University for twelve years. She has 3 years of experience in clinical research. Gloria’s professional organizations include the American Nursing Association, Phi Kappa Phi, Regional Organization of Nurse Executives, as well as Sigma Theta Tau (the National Honor Society for Nursing).

Geoffrey S. Lipscomb, MD G & L Research Sub-Investigator

Dr. Lipscomb has been a practicing family physician with South Baldwin Family Practice since 1999. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine, Sleep Medicine and is an Investigator for G & L Research. Dr. Lipscomb has clinical research experience in the areas of diabetes, pain management, hypertension, and constipation, respiratory and gynecological studies. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Alabama Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Lipscomb is a member of the Internal Medicine Committee as well as the previous Chief of Medicine for South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.  He is an active member in the local Rotary Club as well as his church. Dr. Lipscomb has conducted ethnographic surveys and led several medical teams in India, Nepal, Kenya, and Thailand. He enjoys traveling and has adventured throughout Cambodia, Laos, Hong Kong, Japan, Egypt, Vietnam,Cuba, and the Netherlands. Dr. Lipscomb also enjoys photography and playing the saxophone.

Nidal Morrar, MD G & L Research Principal Investigator

Dr. Morrar is a practicing board certified family physician as well as Medical Director for Asera Care Hospice. He is the Principal Investigator of G & L Research since 2009, with clinical experience in the areas of hypertension, diabetes, pain management, constipation, respiratory and gynecological studies. Dr. Morrar has also participated in several internet based studies including hypercholesterolemia, depression, COPD, and psychiatric medications. He has previously been named “Resident Teacher of the Year” and currently serves as the South Baldwin Regional Medical Center Physician Advisor, and is currently head of the Utilization Review Committee and serves on the Medical Executive Committee.

A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Morrar has conducted several presentations covering topics such as high risk obstetrics, breast and testicular cancer, chest radiograph, common knee injuries seen in the family practice setting, as well as topics dealing with the care of childhood sexual abuse survivors. Dr. Morrar is a nationally ranked member of the US Table Team Association and is SCUBA Divemaster certified. He is also an avid skier and tennis player. Dr. Morrar is also fluent in Arabic.

Christine Sullivan-Fuller, NCMA; Recruitment Specialist, Clinical Research Coordinator

Christine Sullivan-Fuller is a clinical research coordinator for G & L Research. She also serves as the Recruitment and Marketing Specialist where she frequently speaks at meetings and events for various local service clubs and organizations. Christine is a graduate of Fortis College where she received her national certification as a medical assistant. She has completed certification for Good Clinical Practice, Basic Life Support, CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens, IATA Shipping of Infectious Substances, and is AARC certified in spirometry. Research experience includes hypertension, diabetes, pain management, constipation, respiratory and gynecological studies. Christine is an active member of the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, and a registered bone marrow donor with the Be The Match bone marrow donor registry.
